In January 2022, the library’s trustees approved the creation of a new website for Friendship’s library. After reviewing a few options, they chose Friendship’s own town health officer to design it for them.
In addition to simplifying the process to check out audio and digital books, the site includes a real-time marine weather forecast for our fishermen. Courtesy of Windy.com, the data-rich forecast is based on the ECMWF model, which for Friendship Harbor has been historically more accurate than the NOAA’s GFS model.
Over the next year, the library will be trialing new services, including the possibility of a streaming video service, so be sure to check the website for updates.
