The Early History of Morse Island, Friendship, Maine: 1790-1900 , written by Gary Baird, is now available at the Friendship Public Library.
This book offers a great look into what the early settlers of Meduncook Plantation (Friendship) faced as they carved a town out of the wilderness. The author has generously given the library copies to sell as a fundraiser for our planned library expansion. One hundred percent of the suggested donation of $20+ directly benefits the addition. To get a copy, call 207-832-5332 or email friendshippubliclibrary@gmail.com. We only accept cash or check (made out to “Town of Friendship Library Account”). Please include $5 if you would like to have it shipped. This book will make a great gift for anyone interested in Friendship’s history.
